About me

Valerie was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. 

From an early age she knew she had a passion for storytelling and motion pictures, though she thought she would become a dancer, life had other plans for her. Her family moved to Quito, Ecuador when she was 13. She was submerged in a completely different culture full of life, colour, and warmth. This experience enriched her life and gave her a unique perspective on story telling. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Film & Television Production and a Minor in General Psychology at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito. Valerie believes that story telling is a journey experienced through our emotions, “Film must uncover the parts of us we most often experience in our dreams, while being wide awake.”  

Remaining faithful to her love of music, Valerie thinks of visual arts as a perfect harmony, where each element contributes to accomplishing a unique product. Valerie also believes that as she grows and gains new life experience, she has access to different lenses which allows her to approach every project with a fresh new perspective.

After over 3 years of producing, co-hosting, and editing YouTube videos for three different channels, Valerie launched her own freelance business as a video editor and content creator. This career path not only fuels her passion for storytelling but also gives her the flexibility to pursue her love for music as a singer and songwriter across a variety of projects. Constantly producing content keeps her curious, adaptable, and in tune with contemporary trends while engaging new audiences. Valerie leaves a part of herself in every project, and her goal is to make a lasting impact in the film and online creative community.
